2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the death of the last Tokugawa shogun, Yoshinobu Tokugawa. It is said that Yoshinobu Tokugawa cooked rice in a silver rice pot in his later years.
This is a piece made for the 100th anniversary of his death. Since the rice is directly cooked over a fire, only the handle is made of hard 92.5% silver to maintain strength.
