It is the responsibility of the craftsman to bring out the beauty of the material. However the full potential of metalwork cannot be understood by simply looking at the finished product. The object will live on for hundreds of years, and the changes it goes through during that time will gradually reveal its true beauty. We continue to make products which have this awareness of time.

Metal crafts in Kyoto were cultivated along with Shintoism, Buddhism and tea ceremony andhave achieved a unique development. It is now however facing a critical situation of
being pushed aside by replicas made in foreign countries. We are making various efforts
to spread to the world the culture and proud tradition of metal crafts created in Kyoto.
