Petits dieux de misère – 取るに足らない小さき神々 –

ミリン・グエンは、2015年ヴィラ九条山滞在後フランスで制作した、金属彫刻シリーズ「Petits dieux de misère – 取るに足らない小さき神々-」を展示いたします。
日本滞在中、ミリンは、動植物界で発達した、防御力の仕組みや秘密というテーマに関心を持ち、自身の工房から遠く離れ、普段と同じように制作することが難しい場所で、樹皮や虫の甲殻、棘や繭等、自然界からインスピレーションを受けて、卵の殻や枝などの自然素材と、石膏や組紐などの人工素材を混成したオブジェを制作しました。フランス帰国後、この作品を、彼女が好む素材の金属を用いて更に掘り下げました。彼女の技と日本でのインスピレーション、特に折り紙の技法を組み合わせることで、ミリンは、「Petits dieux de misère – 取るに足らない小さき神々-」シリーズを作り上げました。今回は、この彫刻作品が、まるで、秘密を囁いているかの様な音響とともに展示します。本展では、他新作品とともにミリン・グエンの世界をお楽しみください。

プロフィール

ミリン・グエン / Mylinh Nguyen　

ミリン・グエン：銅系金属の旋盤加工のスペシャリスト
デュペレ学院で繊維工芸を、オリヴィエ・ド・セール学院（国立応用芸術工芸高等学院）で金属工芸を学ぶ。
2002年から、この珍しい技術を中心に、オブジェやアクセサリーの創作に励む。2013年には、「手の賢さに捧げるリリアンヌ・ベタンクール賞」を受賞。
2015年1月から3月、ヴィラ九条山に滞在。

Petits dieux de misère
Mylinh Nguyen presents a series of metal sculptures untitled « Petits dieux de misère », produced after her residency at Villa Kujoyama. During her stay in Japan,
she found inspiration in the vegetal and animal worlds, taking interest in the protection mechanisms developed by many creatures and plants, and the idea of secrecy it conveys. Away from her metal workshop and her usual work methods, she created hybrid objects inspired by elements found in nature, such as bark, shells, thorns, cocoons…
Back in France, she wished to go back to her material of expertise to develop further this thematic. Using her savoir faire applied to Japanese inspirations, such as the technique of origami, Mylinh Nguyen created the « Petits dieux de misère ». In a sound arrangement composed especially for this exhibition, the sculptures whisper words like secrets to be shared with the audience. We wish you a pleasant discovery of Mylinh Nguyen’s world of sculptures.

Bio
Mylinh Nguyen
A graduate in Textile crafts from the Dupérré School of applied arts and in Metal arts from the Olivier de Serres School of applied arts Mylinh Nguyen specializes in cuprous metal turning. Since 2002 she created various objects and accessories using this rare metalwork technique. She received in 2013 the “Prix Lilianne Bettencourt pour l’intelligence de la main”. Mylinh Nguyen was a resident at Villa Kujoyama in 2015.

Participation in NUIT BLANCHE KYOTO 2016

Seikado has continued to converse and exchange with various countries in order to promote the world of metal arts and learn about culture and crafts through the medium of metal. Seikado has a history of exchange with France, and the opening of NUIT BLANCHE in Kyoto, a sister city of Paris, means that this year we are able to once again welcome French artists to participate.
* NUIT BLANCHE: an annual one-night modern art festival held every Autumn in Paris, France.

A propos de Petits dieux de misère
Mylinh Nguyen, créatrice d’objets spécialisée dans le tournage sur métaux cuivreux, présente une série de sculptures en métal intitulée petits dieux de misère, réalisée
à l’issue à sa résidence à la Villa Kujoyama en 2015. Pendant son séjour au Japon, Mylinh Nguyen s’est intéressée à la thématique du secret et aux mécanismes de protection développées dans le règne animal et végétal. Loin de son atelier et de ses méthodes de travail habituelles, elle a façonné des objets hybrides, puisant son inspiration dans des objets naturels tels que l’écorce, les carapaces d’insectes, les épines, les cocons…
De retour en France, elle a souhaité approfondir ce travail en retournant à son matériau de prédilection. Mêlant son savoir faire aux inspirations japonaises, notamment l’origami, Mylinh Nguyen a composé la série des petits dieux de misère. Ces sculptures chuchotent des paroles prononcées comme des secrets, dans une composition sonore spécialement conçue pour cette exposition. Nous vous souhaitons une belle découverte de l’univers de Mylinh Nguyen.

Mylinh Nguyen
Diplômée des Métiers d’Art textile à l’école Duperré et des Métiers d’art métal à l’école Olivier de Serres, Mylinh Nguyen est spécialiste dans le tournage sur métaux cuivreux. Elle développe la création d’objets et d’accessoires depuis 2002 autour de cette technique rare. En 2013, elle a été lauréate du prix Lilianne Bettencourt pour l’intelligence de la main. Mylinh Nguyen a séjourné à la Villa Kujoyama de janvier à mars 2015.

Seikado, par le biais du matériau même, le métal, est attaché à enrichir et nourrir la culture et le savoir-faire des métiers d’artisanat du métal multipliant pour ce faire les possibilités d’échanges avec les différents pays.Kyoto, ville partenaire de Paris, accueillera de nouveau cette année la « NUIT BLANCHE ».
Seikado se joindra à cet événement, ayant le plaisir de présenter des artistes français.
